Why only within-UK????
lol when the date is final, I'll check how much flights are... unlikely I can afford it though 😕

Come on Angie, how could you pass up the opportunity to be the only girl in an 18 man strong chess bender??
I think next time I miss my bus and I'm stuck at the train station, I will enquire as to how much it would be. Though overnight train with 2 changes... oh well, I could handle that. I'd need somewhere to stay over though, and preferably also someone to pick me up from the train station 😉
Oh well... off to bed now 😴

It'll cost more than a flight would and take much longer - I've been looking at trips into Europe for Xmas and the train is very expensive. Of course, you may have a discount railcard type thingy which could make it all affordable. 🙂
Originally posted by angie88You can stay at my house, my housemate wouldn't mind. As for picking you up from the station, would you arrive at Euston by any chance? Cos we're going to be round the corner 😀

EDIT: right, yeh, you said Waterloo 🙄
I'll pick you up 🙂
Originally posted by rhbI did it once (from Germany via Brussels). I think it's fun to travel by train, although I'd probably not have done it if I hadn't had my cello with me (which is a problem on the airplane). And I have a sister in Brussels, so I could combine the trip with a visit to her. As for the prices, there are often good offers for young people. But as you say, flights are probably still cheaper.
